About Us
Our journey began in September 2023 when the Evanton Community Trust founded Evanton Community Cinema, we work in partnership ECT, VDJ hall and Film Hub Scotland, BFI, FAN, National Lottery. Our very first screening in the Victoria Diamond Jubilee Hall. We started small in the ante room, but the community’s enthusiasm was so great that we quickly decided to moved into the main hall as we knew we needed more space to be able to showcase the films to there full potential.
By March 2025, we became an independent group in our own right. In May 2025 we were awarded funding to purchase our own cinema kit, In October 2025, we reached a major milestone: installing our own professional cinema kit to bring high-quality visuals and sound to our home.
A Unique Cinema Experience
We aren’t your typical cinema. We pride ourselves on offering something different, from the films we choose to the events we host. Our screenings include:
A Diverse Mix: We show everything from classics and modern hits to world cinema and thought-provoking documentaries.
Supporting Local: We are passionate about showcasing local filmmakers and giving a platform to films that are often overlooked by mainstream cinemas.
Live Events: We love to go beyond the screen, hosting Q&A sessions with creators, live theatre screenings, and even live musical performances before the show.

Hospitality
We are proud to be based in the Victoria Diamond Jubilee
Hall, which has served Evanton since 1897. During our events, we offer
refreshments including tea, coffee, and biscuits—with the occasional treat of
local home baking. Donations are
welcome, keeping our screenings a warm and accessible social occasion for
everyone.
